Born in Montreal, Christiane Roy in 1956, has established her art studio in Sutton in 1992. Graduate from UQÀM, she perfected etching techniques with Janine Leroux-Guillaume in Montreal. She then lived from 1979 to 1981 in Montauban, France, where she studied with Marc Dautry. Thanks to him, she learned to master old techniques, such as burin engraving, techniques she since puts forward in her practice. Christiane Roy has shown her work in several exhibitions in countries such as France, U.S.A., Japan, Spain and, of course, Canada.
