Valerie Syposz was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada. She began her studies of art at Canterbury High School where she discovered her love for printmaking. In 2008, She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Concordia University, Montreal. Although Valerie majored in painting and drawing, she was always most comfortable in the print studio. Since graduating, she has focused on creating and exhibiting print media working with linocut and lithography. She has participated in artist-in-residence programs at Ålgården, in Borås, Sweden, Atelier Circulaire in Montreal, and Open Studio, Toronto. Valerie is currently a full-time member of the Montreal printmaking co-ooperative studio Atelier Circulaire. She remains active in Ottawa and Montreal, and recently internationally, taking part in both group and solo shows.
