VICTORIA GORO - RAPOPORTU.S.A.
Born in Moscow, Russia, Victoria Goro-Rapoport graduated from Moscow Art College with a BFA in set design in 1985. Until her emigration from Russia in 1990, she worked with various puppet and drama theaters as a set designer. From 1990 to 1994, she lived in Jerusalem, Israel, where she was introduced to the technique of etching – her current primary means of artistic expression. In 1998 she earned her MFA in set design from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2002 she earned another MFA – this time in set design – from the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign. After her graduation she taught drawing for two years at the University of Illinois. In 2004 she moved to Kearney, Nebraska, where she is currently an Associate Professor of Drawing and Printmaking at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
