Harriet FeBland

I have, during a long career, been a sculptor-painter-printmaker and discover
that each of these disciplines greatly influence each other and my artistic direction. Long ago I chose to work geometrically and abstractly, including literal subject-matter only occasionally. My subject is usually "form" which includes personal and universal symbols.
My preferred printmaking techniques are monotypes, mostly quite large, employing lithographic inks and a large etching press; or woodblock prints which I produce by the hand-rubbed Japanese 'mochu-hanga' technique and are much smaller. My career has spanned two continents and "where" I work and my surroundings is another influencial element.
