Rob van Straaten is not only a painter and drawer, he is also filling his days with etching and graphic technics. Histalent is an ability, he got by birth: a gift.It iis all in the family.
He developed this natural ability by following classes by different artists. Furthermore he followed the lessons etching, ithografhic and other graphis technics at the Free Academiiie in Rotterdam. But once he sees how to handle he knows and goes straighton forwards. He prefers working on location. His bag with painting and drawing necessities with him because he never knows what comes around
Witha smooth and powerful set_up he gives impressions of everything that captivates him, that is people and music, people and dancing, architecture, monasteries a.s.o. He nourishes a warmlove ffornautical subjects and for years you could found him in the ports of Rotterdam, De;fzijl, the Wadden or]elsewhere, always painting of sketching depending of the time hecould spent at thatmoment. Thelater outliner is finished in his studio. How many drawings and portrets he made, certainly more then thousand.
